News…. and an apology

News…. and an apology

Peter Sidor will be taking over as Membership Secretary for the party officially as of 1st September 2017.

Let me apologise to any and all applicants who have waited and may be still waiting for membership confirmation and or a welcome pack.

Peter will try to get on top of this before the end of the year. We have very few activists in the party and those who are active find themselves with multiple tasks, Stevie our previous secretary has been a bit overwhelmed with both personal …

General Election Announcement

General Election Announcement

Dear Party Faithful,

Firstly let me thank everyone involved in the recent council election campaign. It was a bumpy ride but well worth the effort.

I believe overall it was a successful campaign for us and merely the beginning …

Scottish Council Elections 2017

Scottish Council Elections 2017

A Call to Arms.

Our campaign to inject Libertarian principles into the Scottish body politic continues with our plan to field candidates for May 4th.

You may be aware that our membership secretary, Stephen McNamara, recently stood in the Kilmarnock East and Hurlford by election, achieving a new council election record  of 53 first votes and 305 seconds. These numbers are not as important as the fact that almost 3000 people were presented with a ballot paper featuring our party name and logo.

Awareness is growing.

In view of this, …

5 Reasons to vote Libertarian in the Leith by-election

By Antony Sammeroff

Reduce government waste

Government programs are notoriously wasteful, but currently our nation is divided between left wingers who want absolutely no cuts to government spending, and conservatives who want to abruptly pull the rug out from underneath the most vulnerable people in our society rather than targeting corporate welfare, immoral wars, wasteful military spending, and big government bureaucracy. The Libertarian Party will work to oppose wasteful spending and reduce the tax burden on regular individuals …
