Murder in Holyrood

Murder in Holyrood

A vicious and brutal assault was carried out in the Scottish Parliament yesterday resulting in a tragic and senseless death.

The victim “Free Speech” lay lifeless on the floor of the parliament as the 82 perpetrators, all MSPs, gloated and congratulated each other. Only 32 MSPs protested and tried to help the victim while 4 shamefully turned there backs and chose not to intervene,

The names of the perpetrators are as yet unknown, but continue to watch this space as full names and constituencies will be posted …

A Price Worth Paying?

A Price Worth Paying?

What is the value of freedom? Throughout history it has been an ideal that wars have been fought over. A concept so important that our ancestors were willing to suffer and lay down their lives to protect it. They did this because they understood deep in their gut, that a life under the heel of a boot is not a life worth living.

But to my dismay, it has become increasingly obvious over the past year that the general public does not share this principle. Out …

The Covert Human Intelligence Sources Bill : How spying powers can be abused.

The Covert Human Intelligence Sources Bill : How spying powers can be abused.

When Kingdoms were established thousands of years ago, the overall apparatus of spying on the population to find any hint of wrong-think or rebellion among the people who may want to rid the place they live in of authoritarian rulers has not changed much,

Rather it has evolved. The most trusted servants were often used by the ruling Kings, Queens or Emperors to gather information on finding out which enemies, both foreign and domestic, threatened them. Many empires of the past including the Roman Empire with …

Aberdeen Councillor Flying the Flag of Liberty

It is with great pleasure I am proud to announce another landmark event in the history of the Scottish Libertarian Party. Our first sitting councillor.

Sandy has joined us from the Scottish Conservatives of which he has been a …

Something Worse Than Covid This Way Comes

Something Worse Than Covid This Way Comes

According to Dr. Sunita Gupta of Oxford University, 130 million people are at risk of starvation due to lockdowns.

The UN states that between 42 and 66 million children around the world will be reduced to “extreme poverty”. UNICEF predicts the death of 1.2 million children due to lockdowns. Other sources have observed that an unprecedented number of “deaths of despair” from alcoholism, drug abuse and suicide are resulting from the lockdown. Fear is not a just arbitrator of data, and it …

Hey! Creature! Leave them Kids Alone!

Hey! Creature! Leave them Kids Alone!

It would seem that the spirit of John Knox is alive and well in modern Scotland. Though in fairness to our arguably most famous hirsute killjoy, when he wrote his First Blast of the Trumpet Against the Monstrous Regiment  of Women he had not envisaged anything like Nicola Sturgeon.

I think if he had he might have reconsidered, after all the two of them have so much in common. I’m sure he may have warmed to her puritanical priggishness, her war against alcohol, her complete confidence …

Free To Disagree : The SLP Support Dr. Waiton’s Campaign

“I’m not aware of any liberal democracy that has got a bill that is as unbelievably authoritarian as this one.”  Dr. Stuart Waiton

Many of you may know the SNP and in particular the “Justice” Minister Humza Yousaf are determined to introduce their latest assault on individual liberty, The Hate Crime Bill.

See the previous article on this website for more details here:

scottishlibertarians.com/how-fail-at-writing-laws-a-guide-by-the-snp/

Dr. Stuart Waiton of Abertay University, a fellow traveler in the march against authoritarianism who did sterling work opposing the equally insidious Named Person legislation, has …

We Need To Talk About “Education” – Deschooling Society

We Need To Talk About “Education” – Deschooling Society

“School is the advertising agency which makes you believe that you need the society as it is.”

Thus spake Ivan Illich. Austrian (we owe them so much) Philosopher, polymath, and author of the classic work Deschooling Society. A book that sits permanently by my bedside alongside Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged , The Complete Works of TS. Elliot and, The Count of Monte Cristo. But it is to Illich’s short but powerful gem that I turn to most out of the four.

When it comes to what we define as education I have …

Why We Should Oppose Mandatory Face mask Laws

Why We Should Oppose Mandatory Face mask Laws

As summer is coming up and the number of deaths from Coronavirus are going down, you would honestly think that it will be time to grasp that breath of fresh air whether it be out in the garden, out for a walk on the streets or even in the park with bigger woodlands if you’re lucky. Except, that may not be the case any longer if the pro-lockdown and Health & Safety zealots have anything to go by.

Three months ago, right at the time when …

Orwell’s Newspeak : The New Normal

Orwell’s Newspeak : The New Normal

The term “Orwellian” is a word thrown around like confetti these days. Often in hyperbolic terms but in most instances I think it’s justified.

For those of you who never read George Orwell’s 1984 (studies show about 90% of people who say they have, haven’t. ….. OK I pulled that figure out of my backside but it’s pretty close.) I strongly advise you should do so now, before it’s too late. I’m sure someone somewhere will indulge in a bit of offence archaeology and uncover some …
