The term “Orwellian” is a word thrown around like confetti these days. Often in hyperbolic terms but in most instances I think it’s justified.

Like a few other curious individuals, concerned citizens and free thinkers who oppose the lockdown on the apparently insane principle that there is no evidence whatsoever that it is doing any good but on the contrary there is much evidence it’s doing harm. When she took office, Theresa May claimed that “To deliver Brexit, you must believe in Brexit.” She doesn’t, so she hasn’t. Her belief that Brexit is fundamentally bad for Britain has shaped her approach to the issue. She believes that the best Brexit is the weakest Brexit, irrespective of what we voted for.
