Orwell’s Newspeak : The New Normal

Orwell’s Newspeak : The New Normal

The term “Orwellian” is a word thrown around like confetti these days. Often in hyperbolic terms but in most instances I think it’s justified.

For those of you who never read George Orwell’s 1984 (studies show about 90% of people who say they have, haven’t. ….. OK I pulled that figure out of my backside but it’s pretty close.) I strongly advise you should do so now, before it’s too late. I’m sure someone somewhere will indulge in a bit of offence archaeology and uncover some …

Notes from the Underground: Holyrood Confidential

Notes from the Underground: Holyrood Confidential

Like a few other curious individuals, concerned citizens and free thinkers who oppose the lockdown on the apparently insane principle that there is no evidence whatsoever that it is doing any good but on the contrary there is much evidence it’s doing harm. I attended today’s Anti Lockdown demo in Holyrood Park.

Apart from the disparate and brave few(I identified around 30)who defied Wee Sister in order to push back against state overreach, notable by absence were any I could possibly describe as “Far Right”. I …

Statement on Brexit

Statement on Brexit

Brexit Statement.

When she took office, Theresa May claimed that “To deliver Brexit, you must believe in Brexit.” She doesn’t, so she hasn’t. Her belief that Brexit is fundamentally bad for Britain has shaped her approach to the issue. She believes that the best Brexit is the weakest Brexit, irrespective of what we voted for. Sadly, the EU has taken advantage of this to demand a punitive financial payment of £39 billion and straightjacketed our economy by demanding compliance with its rules and regulations. This leaves …

The Case of The Nazi Pug : A Joke That’s No Laughing Matter

The Case of The Nazi Pug : A Joke That’s No Laughing Matter

March 2018 deserves to be recorded for posterity as a milestone. Or indeed a tombstone. A time When the Scottish Judiciary drove what may be the final nail into the coffin of freedom of speech and expression in this country.

It has been manifestly obvious to anyone that Police Scotland are a political animal and creature of the Scottish Notional Party. It would now also seem that the judiciary are firmly in their pocket.

At Airdrie Sheriff court after a trial lasting longer than Nurnberg, Markus Meechan …

100 Years on: Remembering the Millions who suffered under Socialism

100 Years on: Remembering the Millions who suffered under Socialism

There are two places only where socialism will work: in heaven, where it is not needed, and in hell where they already have it. – Winston Churchill

It is a recurring theme amongst socialists to argue that, if we only adopt the right system, a wonderful utopia awaits us. Indeed, the word “Utopia” owes its origin to Thomas More’s book of the same name about a mythical island where there is no private property and everyone takes what he needs. It is therefore an extremely appropriate …

General Election June 8th

General Election June 8th

The UK Prime Minister Theresa May has decided to disrupt our council election campaign by selfishly and inconsiderately calling a snap General Election. (Tsk!)

However, be that as it “May”, if life gives you lemons…squeeze them back in the ****s eyes is what I say.

Accordingly the leadership team will be doing our best to appoint a campaign manager and place some candidates in key positions in Scotland. Given our current financial situation we are looking at three, possibly four, candidates at the most but ideally I’d …
