New legislation to deal with hate crime – including “stirring up” hatred – has been introduced to the Scottish Parliament. According to the “Boiling a Frog” theory, if you place a frog into hot water it will immediately jump out. If however you place the same unfortunate and unsuspecting amphibian into cold water, and gradually and incrementally increase the heat. When she took office, Theresa May claimed that “To deliver Brexit, you must believe in Brexit.” She doesn’t, so she hasn’t. In the early hours of Saturday morning  14th April 2018 the combined military might of the US, UK and France launched what amounts to an unprovoked attack on the sovereign nation state of Syria.  The pretext of the attack, to punish Bashar Al Assad and his regime for the alleged use of chemical weapons against his own civilian population.

Why then do I  say unprovoked? Because Assad posed no threat to the security, interests, overseas dominions, allies or peoples of the three countries involved.
