I think we can all agree that 2020 has been an annus horribilis for anyone who cares about Liberty.

It would seem that the spirit of John Knox is alive and well in modern Scotland. Though in fairness to our arguably most famous hirsute killjoy, when he wrote his First Blast of the Trumpet Against the Monstrous Regiment  of Women he had not envisaged anything like Nicola Sturgeon.
