Minutes of libertarian AGM 2022 10/09/2022

Liam Harkness (Treasurer, “LRH”) welcomed people to the AGM and set out the ground rules.

Tam Laird (“TL”) gave an introductory speech.

LRH ran through the minutes of the last AGM. There were no actions to follow up and no updates required.

LRH reminded members that the deputy leader, Stef Johnstone, had resigned and that a new deputy leader would require election. The first party business was the election of the successor to Stef.

I’m Calum “Caz” Paul from Kirkcaldy and I’m the new Deputy Leader of the Scottish Libertarian Party. I’m a freelancer in the Scottish film industry, a musician and an active volunteer for a local charity.

AGM 2022 Update

AGM 2022 Update

The 2022 Annual General Meeting is going ahead as planned on September 10th at 11am. It will be in hotel Yotel on 68-73 Queen Street in Edinburgh.

 

This is a great opportunity for those who wish to get involved in shaping our policies and running our party to have their say!

Submissions are open for policy proposals to be discussed at the AGM. Any member of the party can contribute a policy proposal or reform. They must have it dual signed with another member of the party; …

Statement from the Constitutional Committee

The decision to end the membership of longstanding member and Libertarian Party office – holder Stephen McNamara was made by The Constitutional Committee on April 1st – but was no joke.

Controversy has arisen over this, in fact just the latest in a series of controversies, and – understandably – we have been asked to release details of the reason for his termination. AGM 2022 Announcement

The party’s AGM for 2022 will take place in Edinburgh on Saturday 10th September.

Time and venue TBA. We would encourage all members to come along.

Among other considerations, Considerable time will be devoted( in addition to the huge amount of time already consumed, time that could have been more productively spent.) to the issues surrounding the Stephen McNamara debacle.

An agenda for the meeting will be drawn up shortly and would ask that any proposals for discussion be forwarded 28 days before the AGM date.
