The 2023 Annual General Meeting will be on September 23rd (Saturday) at 11am, in the Merchants House of Glasgow, on 7 West George Street in Glasgow, G2 1BA.

The detailed AGM agenda will be announced on our website in due time. Any proposals or candidacies should be addressed to [email protected].

Minutes of libertarian AGM 2022 10/09/2022

Liam Harkness (Treasurer, “LRH”) welcomed people to the AGM and set out the ground rules.

Tam Laird (“TL”) gave an introductory speech.

LRH ran through the minutes of the last AGM. There were no actions to follow up and no updates required.

LRH reminded members that the deputy leader, Stef Johnstone, had resigned and that a new deputy leader would require election. The first party business was the election of the successor to Stef.

Following a short discussion at our AGM in 2022 The Scottish Libertarian Party are pleased and proud to announce our recognition of The Free Republic of Liberland.

Liberland is one of the world’s newest micronations nestled on the Danube between Croatia and Serbia. The nation is founded on Libertarian free market principles and as such we welcome it and hope it gains the international recognition it deserves.

We wish President Vít Jedli?ka his cabinet and it’s citizens peace, prosperity and every success. Live and Let Live

Jonathan Rainey of Dumbarton was presented with our Lion of Liberty award for 2022 at our AGM.

Jonathan is a young enthusiastic and outspoken activist who has stood in several elections in the Dumbarton area both in the council wards and parliamentary constituency.

On all occasions he puts in an amazing and almost inhuman amount of effort and his leafletting work load is almost legendary. He narrowly missed out on the award last year. Great job and certainly well deserved on this occasion.

The Party AGM went ahead as scheduled last Saturday and was a great success.

Caz Paul has been duly elected as the new party Deputy Leader and we wish him every success in his new role.

Caz hails from Kirkcaldy Fife (birthplace of Adam Smith no less) and has been an activist in the party for many years and was a participant in the formulation of the party’s constitution.

The 2022 Annual General Meeting is going ahead as planned on September 10th at 11am. It will be in hotel Yotel on 68-73 Queen Street in Edinburgh.

The party’s AGM for 2022 will take place in Edinburgh on Saturday 10th September.

Time and venue TBA. We would encourage all members to come along.

Among other considerations, Considerable time will be devoted( in addition to the huge amount of time already consumed, time that could have been more productively spent.) to the issues surrounding the Stephen McNamara debacle.

An agenda for the meeting will be drawn up shortly and would ask that any proposals for discussion be forwarded 28 days before the AGM date.
